Some Scalp Exercises To Reduce Hair Loss

Slide Your Scalp Exercise

Join your palms and interlock your fingers. Now place your hands behind your head so that your middle fingers touch, but your thumbs will not be close to each other. Vigorously and with a little pressure, move your palms up and down and feel your scalp moving. Do this daily for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

It will be difficult at first to feel any “real” movement of the scalp but as you practice this every day, it will make things much easier and you will feel the difference in your scalp movements.

Knuckle Tap

Here is another exercise but instead of using your fingertips, use your knuckles. It is an old Indonesian technique and very effective. Gently tap your scalp with your knuckles applying a slight pressure all over, your head. Knock with your knuckles on your temples on top of your head, at the sides and down the back of your neck. Do this for at least 5 minutes daily.

Once you have mastered doing this, try an advanced version, by massaging while you stand and lean forward. Stand with your feet about a foot apart while keeping them firmly on the ground. Now, gently bend your upper body until your head is parallel the floor. Your head should be lower than your abdomen at this point.

Now, try further lowering your head a little more. Do not bend your legs. It will be difficult in the beginning, but later on you will be able to do it easily. Let them remain in the straight position. Now, use your knuckles to gently tap all over and around your head. Keep tapping your scalp for at least a minute. Slowly return to the upright position. Keep on tapping your scalp for another 30 seconds.

Tugging sections of your hair lightly also helps to invigorate hair follicles. Take a section of hair, hold it close to the head and gently pull or tug at it a few times. Next, take another section of hair and repeat to encourage a thicker growth of hair.
